Variations of TMT bars:
8 millimetre TMT bars are the most lightweight TMT Bars having a mass of 4.6 kilograms for individual rods. Each bundle of these bars contains 10 TMT rods and weighs approximately 45-46 kg. One ton comprises 22 bundles each. The 8 mm TMT bars are mostly used for ring construction only.
TMT bars with a diameter of 12 millimetres have a mass of 10.4 kilograms. Each bundle comprises 5 rods and weighs approximately 51 to 52 kg. One ton comprises approximately 20 bundles. The 12 mm TMT bar is used for the construction of beams with roofs.
16 millimetre TMT bars are one of the widely used TMT bars having a mass of 18.3 kilograms. Each bundle contains three rods and weighs up to 54 to 56 kg in total. One ton comprises 8 bundles of 16 mm TMT bars. The 16 mm bars are used for the construction of columns or beams as per their related structure designs.
20 milimetre TMT bars typically have a mass of 30 kilograms. Each bundle of 20 mm TMT bars contains 2 rods, and weights range from 58 to 60 kilograms (kg). One ton comprises 17 bundles of TMT bars. The 20 mm TMT is mostly used in columns or beams.
25 milimitre TMT bars typically have a mass ranging from 44 to 48 kg for each rod. Only one rod is included in each individual package.1 ton comprises approx. 22 bundles. The high-weight 25 mm TMT bars are capable of withstanding external loads and are used in making roof structures.
